Viya Contemporary brings a dynamic new perspective to Avenue Bellevue’s Art on the Avenue series, showcasing a world of contemporary art that celebrates diversity, connection, and cultural storytelling. Founded by Vinaya Rao, Viya is guided by a belief that art has the power to transcend boundaries, both geographical and emotional, creating space for dialogue and discovery. 

Born in India and based in the Pacific Northwest, Vinaya Rao bridges two worlds through her curatorial vision. Previously located at Seattle’s Pioneer Square, her gallery represents an evolving collection of international artists, many of whom explore themes of identity, transformation, and belonging through color, texture, and form.  

At Avenue Bellevue, Viya Contemporary presents a world of refined expression, where each work embodies balance, emotion, and perspective. The collections reflect Vinaya Rao’s intuitive curatorial approach – refined, expressive, and unafraid of contrast.
